Cronan Ranch; 12 Miles of Trails
Cronan Ranch is just outside of Pilot Hill and has 12 miles of rolling hills. The trails are easy to moderate and takes you to the South Fork American River. One notable sight; the set from the movie; Memoirs of a Geisha has the look of old buildings but are rather new. They make a great backdrop for stills.

Hey, Canyon hiker. I was looking for Cronan Ranch just two weeks ago & I couldn't find it so I ended up at Greenwood ravine (which is great, by the way) instead. But how exactly do I find Cronan Ranch? I sure as heck didn't see it from 49 & I was looking for it around Pilot Hill. Please let me know if there's a landmark or something. I want to take my dog, Ishmael, out there to play.

Hi Birch Bricker, Here's a link for you. The turn off is called Pedro Hill road; approximately two miles past Pilot Hill. Make a right (it's a "quick" right) and the kiosk is just around the bend on the left.

Not that it matters much, but the set that was built for the movie that was filmed at Cronin Ranch was "Love Comes Softly".
Oh... it's on Pedro Hill Rd., I thought it was on 49 at Pedro Hill... no wonder I didn't find it. Thank you so much! Great photo, by the way.
