The vice president, well-known for his verbal gaffes, confirms at a dinner the existence and location of a secret hidden bunker that Cheney is believed to have used after the 9/11 attacks. By Jonathan Passantino Sunday, May 17, 2009 Vice President Joe Biden, well-known for his verbal gaffes, may have finally outdone himself, divulging potentially classified information meant to save the life of a sitting vice president. According to a report, while recently attending the Gridiron Club dinner in Washington, an annual event where powerful politicians and media elite get a chance to cozy up to one another, Biden told his dinnermates about the existence of a secret bunker under the old U.S. Naval Observatory, which is now the home of the vice president. The bunker is believed to be the secure, undisclosed location former Vice President Dick Cheney remained under protection in secret after the 9/11 attacks. Eleanor Clift, Newsweek magazine's Washington contributing editor, said Biden revealed the location while filling in for President Obama at the dinner, who, along with Grover Cleveland, is the only president to skip the gathering. According to the report, Biden "said a young naval officer giving him a tour of the residence showed him the hideaway, which is behind a massive steel door secured by an elaborate lock with a narrow connecting hallway lined with shelves filled with communications equipment." Clift continued: "The officer explained that when Cheney was in lock down, this was where his most trusted aides were stationed, an image that Biden conveyed in a way that suggested we shouldn't be surprised that the policies that emerged were off the wall." In December 2002, neighbors complained of loud construction work being done at the Naval Observatory, which has been used as a residence by vice presidents since 1974. The upset neighbors were sent a letter by the observatory's superintendent, calling the work "sensitive in nature" and "classified" and that it was urgent it be completed "on a highly accelerated schedule." Residents said they believed workers were digging deep into the ground, which would support Biden's report of a secret bunker, but officials never confirmed the purpose of the work performed. The revelation is the latest from Biden, who has a long history of political blunders. Most recently, he said in a televised interview that if a family member asked him about traveling he'd advise staying away from public transportation or confined spaces to avoid swine flu -- a remark described as "borderline fearmongering" by an airline spokesman.

Biden is indeed known for a case of foot in mouth disease. Its part of his enduring uh..charm. Rumors are that on top of everything else he was wrong, it was actually just a place that Cheny's aides went when they heard their boss was planning a hunting trip. (TIC).
I wonder how much the secret bunker cost the taxpayers? And it obviously was not much of a secret if all the neighbors knew about it in 2002. They should have put Cheney in there and accidentally lost the key.

In a related story, Mr. Alan Keyes, an emotionally disturbed, serial-failed GOP candidate for political office, has again been arrested for trespassing on school grounds and loitering on campus property without permission. Religious radio comedian Keyes was taken into custody earlier, on May 8, also for illegal trespass and hanging around a school.
This time Mr. Keyes was accompanied by twice-divorced Randall Terry, a self-styled Christian martyr of the family values cult. Mr. Terry's adopted daughters all became pregnant outside of marriage, and one later converted to Islam.
Mr. Terry's son Jamiel, who was born in prison, publicly announced in 2008 that he is a practicing homosexual. Religious fervor prompted Mr. Terry to disown his son and announce that the boy is a prostitute just like his mother was. This course of action seems to pretty much define Mr. Terry's brand of Christianity and his unique interpretation of Christian family values.
Mr. Keyes has publicly called President Obama a "communist and a usurper." Keyes refuses to acknowledge the validity of President Obama's inauguration because he believes the conspiracists who allege (but cannot prove) that the President was actually born on the planet Krypton and arrived here with a phony Hawaiian birth certificate duct taped in his escape pod.
In 2005 Mr. Keye's daughter Maya announced she is a lesbian. Since then, Mr. Keyes has severed all contact with his daughter in keeping with his Christian family values.
Cheney is so paranoid, you can expect a secret bunker was built pretty much anywhere he stayed for more than a day.

Here is a never-before-published photo of the bunker under construction. The Naval Observatory building was moved out of the way during this construction and then placed back on top of the bunker once it was completed and buried.

Actually, we have this story all wrong. It wasn't a bunker at all.
Dick (his real name was Thomas, not Dick) Cheney had a tomb constructed under the Naval Observatory. His own tomb. Previously unknown documents describe Cheney's fascination with ancient Egypt. He had a particular interest in the Egyptian concept of an afterlife and the preservation of a body through mummification. He had been overheard at dinner parties expressing his interest for building his own secret tomb to rival the tombs of Pharoahs like Ramses II.
Middle and New Kingdom pharoahs didn't have tombs with an obvious mark on top like a pyramid. No, their tombs were buried deep underground and the entrance was completely obscured to protect the pharoah's body for perpetuity.
Cheney actually died in 2002 and his body was interred in his secret tomb under the Naval Observatory where it will be maintained in secret forever. As his successor, Joe Biden is keeping the real secret and has spread the "bunker" story as a cover up. Note this picture of Dick Cheney before death. He is smiling. After his death in 2002 his body was unable to smile (some problem with the lip muscles and the animitronics control chip):

Septic: I think the Republican party will, at some time, get it's act together. It’s inevitable. The Democrat party has changed drastically over the last 45 years, for the worse I feel. The Republican party needs to re-establish it’s core principals and stick by them and it will, given time. Right now neither party is serving the country very well in my opinion although I have mostly conservative leanings and have hope that radical liberal philosophies will wear thin on the voting public and force a change back to something more realistic. On the other hand we have Joe. He ain’t gonna change. Too late. Just sit back and enjoy the show. Joe will keep us entertained for some time I guess.
