Sports hunters are one of the most lowest form of life for they know the animals have no voice and their cries will never be heard because the killing in done in the homes of the animals. Hunters bring their killing accessories, baits, lures and what ever else they need to "hunt" with which in reality they dont even hunt for hunting is to "search and seek" which they do not do. They use what ever means to bring the animals to them as they sit on their cowardly tree stand, then they kill. Especially in bowhunting the deer do not even die quik and bowkillers know this but they could care less and in many "tracking wounded deer " site they are told to wait at least 30-45 min min before tracking the deer because they have to be sure the animals are dead but some depending on what kind of blood is the arrow(gut, lung, liver hit etc) will show how long it will take for the animals to die. some like the gut hit can be up to 12 hours and hunters can even go home , have some beer, watch tv then go back and track the deer.

Caroline, the deer in this region would not enjoy the population they are at now if it were not for all of us humans living here. As far as I'm concerned hunting deer and harvesting it for food is more humane than say buying beef, pork, chicken, turkey etc... at the local grocery store. When you kill a deer its just that , KILLING, not "harvest" they are not potatoes you just pluck the ground. These animals lives was destroyed way before their time where else in crops such as potatoes , corn, tomatoes etc are at the end of their lives. no worries. I deal with a number of activist and i actually speak at their meetings. we are able to work together and in a better future for our wildlife ....particulary deer. These activists know hunting is not going anywhere. But they don't call people "MURDERS" for shooting deer during deer season. We have fund raisers together and teach our children about protecting our wildlife.

I live in MIddletown, New Jersey and my pet beagle was gored by a deer this last November. The antlers ripped my dogs stomach wide open, her pacreas were outside her stomach and her intestines were dragging on the ground. Obviously we had to put her to sleep, surgery was an option but would be massive and exploratory with no guarantees.
