Tightening...a strangle hold

In the morning a blog appears, readers post and by afternoon all is gone. We have all been seeing this happen on a daily basis.

The AJ told us on the 15th of July in the Local news section this would happen. You will have to find the story yourself as I WILL NOT LINK TO IT.

I tend not to agree with Mr. Yosemite_Sam on most accounts, but his post on that story was on the mark. Again, NO LINK PROVIDED.

Small town thinking. These are MY THOUGHTS. AJ, don't you realize that what happens in places outside of the city limits of Auburn have a local impact? It's a big world out there, we are all a part of it and our lives are impacted by it. Think about the food you eat, the clothes you wear and electricity consumed to produce your product. How much of that comes from Placer County, just to name a few.

Why is there any reason to look at this web site more often than once a week? Will that have any impact on the number of hits you can count and your add revenue?

Thank you...I'll check back on Sunday's from now on.

Rolandmc: You are right. It has gotten pretty dull around here. I know I visit less---I can see that others do too. Too bad.

Rolandmc,

I agree. It is getting lame on the AJ forums.

While there is a balance in life to everything, I think if we thought hard enough we could generate plenty to debate/talk about at a local level. Still there are many issues the are of nationwide importance that impact us here locally.

In response to the recent comments regarding the removal of blogs, we want to remind you that national topics that have local relevance can be discussed on myAuburn.

However, stories and photos that have copyright protection are not allowed on this Web site and will be removed.

Admin,

What about links? It would be nice to support original material with data, such as CDC statistics on a blog about health care.

Placeropolis Admin, you're not just removing "stories and photos that have copyright protection", you are removing content and comments that may damage the reputation of someone who's butt you want to kiss.

Few photos floating around the internet have copyright protection.. If stories are properly referenced then that should also not be a problem.. You have stories that you publish and have to reference..... what is the diff?

OK, so bloggers have to be original? What a concept.

Guess I missed all the hoopla and something is missing? It is their site and they can do what ...they want to do...and yes copyrighted material is guarded however the and any link to such copyright material is not. Once a link is established on the public web for public view the link is then considered public property and that would include any material inside the designated link.... until the link is removed from the public property web...I should think!

Provincial.
