French Students are gone Let the Memorie's begin

Well the kids have been home in France a week now.

I had to take a week off to recuperate from all the fun!!

It was sad when they left. Quite a few didn't want to go home. Lara staying with the Ostrom family approached me and asked quite clearly without an accent if she could change her ticket to stay longer. I wasn't paying attention to what she was asking I was so impressed with her speach. Lara had improved her English a great deal while here. That is request their parents wish for them to improve their English while here.

Fabian stated "two years was to long to wait to come back." He had grown very attached to his family here.

Alex, Paul, all of the students and families had a very hard time saying good by. I had the bus come late so the good by's could be done. The bus arrived and it still took another 45 minutes to get them on the bus.

Families here, students they hosted, families in France have all gained life long friendships and life long memories. A very strong bond occurs in a short three weeks. I learned one of the students from three years ago is arriving in Auburn to attend the wedding of one of the girls in his American family thas week.

The Huckins and Martin families have hosted for three years and plan to host again next year.

The Huckins opened their home for the Bon Voyage party, which I may say was the best yet.

Well another year will pass and there will be new students coming and we will again have a great fun filled three weeks Oh about the rafting trip yes we did it and was it ever fun. Thanks to Jeff Ambrosia each student went home with a CD of the fun. It was fun, we played hard and now the memories begin. 2009 Until next year

The End
