Goodbye to Cheryl's Clothes Closet. You have been in the fam as long as I can remember and I go back 20 years. I shopped/chatted and reveled in your Big Band music in your stores and petted your oversize cat (Frankie?) when you were on High Street, followed you out to Palm and back Downtown to High Street from whence you will soon depart. You were in harm's way in the center of the rubble/upheaval caused by Streetscape and that added to the economic crisis is enough to put the "final nail in the coffin" to any struggling business. However, it will be interesting to see what businesses do survive all of the aforementioned as a business loses ground when it re-locates and inventory is diminished and the rent and the prices go up. It would seem that consumer is king and service and prices and ambience are paramount--along with deep pockets--for business success so perhaps your demise might be a lesson for those who would seek to throw their hat in the ring; but then, again, who of us with stars in our eyes, ever looks before we leap.
