Obama' Best and Worst Moves of 2009
From Politico 11/04/09. Politico spoke to a dozen political insiders and pulled together a list of Obama'a ten best and ten worst moves of the year.
Ten Best:
1. Letting Congress lead on Health Care Reform. 2. Hillary for Secretary of State. 3. Passing the Stimulus Bill/Bank Bailouts. 4. Sotomayor to the Supreme Court. 5. Taking on the Pirates in Africa. 6. Gov. Huntsman to Ambassador to China. 7. Firing GM CEO Waggoner. 8. His Cairo speech. 9. Wooing the Media. 10. Beating up on Fox News.
Ten Worst:
1. Saying the Cambridge cops were 'Stupid". 2. 8% unemployment statement. 3. Olympics bid. 4. 'Flooding the Meida'. He is everywhere all the time. 5. McChrystal to Afganistan. 6. 'No Earmarks'. well maybe a few billion. 7. No vetting of the vetters. I.E. Geithner and others. 8. Gitmo year two. 9. Snubbing the Dalai Lama. 10 Beat up on Fox News.
Well, maybe a dozen political insiders made this list up, but boy, I sure can't understand how they came up with it. I can see some of the best things should be in the worst list and some of the worst list be in the best.
Example: I do not think it was a bad thing to send McChrystal to Afganhistan.
I do not think that passing the stimulus bill was necessarliy a good thing..... Then again, I might not be seeing the whole pictue clearly and I might be the one who is out of touch.

chase2you, fair enough.
Good move... lapel pin
Bad move... Psych the school kids
Good move... changed church
Bad move... not transparent enough
While there are a few weak items on both sides of the ledger, it's surprisingly balanced. I would toss a couple of things out. The Olympics thing is a nothing story. Y_S wrote about it, so there is your evidence it's a non-story. Wooing the media? What's that all about? If you were to add up the number of time Obama has been on Sunday morning talk shows vs the number of time John McCain has been on Sunday morning talk shows, the last nine months, I'd bet, John McCain has been there more times than BHO.
The list came from "political insiders". They are paid to make lists.
I do agree; say the Cambridge cops were stupid was, well, stupid. I think sitting down with the two of them, while a nice gesture, was below the level of the white house. I want the President to apologize for his errors like anyone else, but I also want him to be to busy to arbitrate this level of disagreement.
rolandmc, I have to agree with your take on the Cambridge incident, but I disagree that he should mediate that kind of incident, maybe I'm not understanding what you're saying.
Another bad thing is that he has paid little attentionto the Fort Hood incident, after all, it can be considered the first terrorist act on American soil since 9-11-2001. To me he seems to be going along the lines, the less we talk about it the sooner people will forget.
Also I think Obama's not going to Berlin over this past weekend is a BIG mistake. My neighbor, one of the few surviving WWII veterans does not have pleasant words for Obama not going to Berlin for the 20th celebration. To paraphrase what my neighbor said.
We went over and fought, we sacraficed and won and our *)%*&^$ President won't even go over there for the memorial of the wall coming down? What a A*(&^% he is.
