At Least Obama Didn't Kiss the Emperor
I don't mind our president bowing to royalty or another head of state, as long as he doesn't kiss him.

Looks like a lil tongue-n-cheek!
Good one Gulliver.
Gulliever: At least use the real photo. Otherwise this is just as bad as any of Yosemite's photo-shops. Don't get me wrong - it's funny - it's just not real.
You can see how fake this picture is when it's larger at: http://aleksandrakristina.files.wordpress.com/2009/03/bush-kiss.jpg
Bush did kiss a Saudi Royal but the real one is less fantastic. (I can't beileve I'm defending Bush)

Euripides: I didn't know the first photo was fake, but I will take your word for it. I posted the photo from the link you provided. Thanks.
Pretty desperate to post a story like this just to counter a post from Yosemite Sam!
Gulliver, is this really how you want people to think of you?
Sincerely,
Robert Capp
tee hee ha ha, good one, gulliver !
CayonRat,
Your post is a vast improvement over your broken record attack of duly elected by the majority, The Honorable Thomas McLintock, United States Representative of the Fourth Congressional District of the Great State of California.
There is hope!

Resorting to Customary greetings in foriegn cultures to make some childish point of sorts....
Wow, you guys must be running on fumes....
More fun-with-photoshop I see.
The current pic is authentic...I'd like to see where Bush's hands are though...
Bush did kiss him I saw it on the news.
Good job putting up the real photo, Gulliver. The truth is stranger that fiction.
As I said - I don't know that I've ever defended Bush, but I'm glad to see you use the real photo.
Mike Gruber: I agree. It is customary for men to kiss one another on the cheek in Semitic cultures. Holding hands is also not unheard of. It is childish and petty to use a president bowing or kissing another world leader of a different culture as a propaganda piece. I get the impression that that wasn't Gulliver's plan. It seems to me he was pointing out the hypocrisy of someone else - Bush just sort of got dragged into the fray. I think we have to give him kudos for taking the fake picture down and putting up the real one.
Thanks again Euripedes. For those of you suffering from irony deficiency, let me clarify. It is actually OK with me (although just a little weird) that Bush kissed and held hands with King Fahd. I posted the photo in response to the hypocrisy of a prior blog which criticized Obama for bowing to the Emperor of Japan. It seems to me that our Diplomat in Chief is smart to follow the customs of the foreign nations he visits. It's just good manners. What really counts is whether the President can lay the groundwork for treaties and trade agreements which benefit the USA. Substance counts more than form, but sometimes form facilitates substance.
Irony deficiency. Good one. :)
Capp - You said "The Honorable Thomas McLintock, United States Representative... etc."
Shouldn't that be "McClintock?"
Thanks - The whole Mac, Mc, McC, etc. is always a consternation for me.

Capps doesn't know when to use caps.
It took a lot of self control not to point out that McCarpetbagger's most avid supporters can't even spell his name correctly.
There is no "HONOR" in sleaze, swiftboating, race, gender, and religious bashing against Hispanics, Latinos, Mexican- Americans, and everybody who is not an evangelical, fundamentalist, or belonging to certain religious sects, and no honor in chickenhawking, which also totally escapes them. There is no honor in attacking Veterans who find it abhorent that the Republican Party is still doing everything in its power to force the current troops to do endless rotations in Bush's Big Mid East Adventure, until they break down physically or mentally, while letting Bush and Cheney and their very best friends Doolittle and McClintock help continue to bankrupt the nation.
Not everybody wants to be a second class citizen being told by the "G*d people" they are evil. Sorry you find that an inconvenience. It certainly was easier for everyone when people just meekly took the abuse because "the terrorists" were out to get us, and we had Doolittle calling everybody who didn't give him $2300 a quarter exactly that.
Glad to see his little protege and replacement, "McLintock," has caught on so quickly !
Maybe he'll get lucky and they'll be another civil rights proposition on the ballot in 2010, so he can refer to more gay people as being like dogs, and run again on that leftover Prop 8 money. Worked before.
CanyonRat,
Nice rant! Much more like the usual.
