Maybe it was not alcohol and she inhaled. Democrats are not supposed to inhale. Not inhaling was one of President Clinton's executive orders along with mandatory dress staining. This is also an attempt at political sarcasm.

Sorry, but I just don't see the humor in drunk driving.

I think we're all lucky she didn't have a shotgun, and was hunting while being hammered.

I'm surprised chase2you or JonGreen didn't throw in a Ted Kennedy joke too. Way to stay classy, guys.

Charlene Lugar, wife of Senate Foreign Relations ranking member Dick Lugar, was arrested Wednesday night for drunken driving after a traffic accident in McLean, Va.

According to a spokesman for the Fairfax County Police Department, “At 6:18 last night one of our patrol officers initiated a traffic stop” of Charlene Lugar at the intersection of Old Dominion Drive and Dominion Reserve Drive in McLean.

Following the stop, Lugar was arrested for driving while intoxicated and taken to the county’s adult detention center where she was processed.

True, a problem.

10% of Americans abuse alcohol. Anyone who is cited for DUI should seriously consider that they have an alcohol abuse problem and seek help.

This is also an attempt at political sarcasm. Hey Jon, is this your sarcasm? How about coming up with equivalent sarcasm, about Dead Eye Dick, or the former Alcoholic in Chief? Oops too late for the high road isn't it.?

Guess you are faced with an Inconvenient Truth. It's a beech ain't it?

Hey tell you what. Let's ask Congress to invest another bizillion dollars in abstinence funding, only this time let's make it absitnence from alcohol. Let's see how that works?

I see neither the humor nor the point.

Former alcoholic is a good thing.

Jon, I think most alcoholics would tell you there is no such thing as a former alcoholic. Though they may no longer drink, they are still an alcoholic. For an alcoholic, it's not the last drink that causes the problem, it's the 1st.

Ok, recovering alcoholic is a good thing.

come on Chase, you're better than this. What a waste of time and energy and to top it off, there is no humor here.

It is good to see "free pass" stopped.....Nobody should drive when they are beyond the legal limit!

I am not an admirer of John Kerry, actually I am a very frequent critic of him and truly dislike the man.

But please tell me, what does that have to do with his daughter. She is an adult, living on her own, this situation has nothing to do with her father.

Come on people, let's show some signs of common sense and try not to politicize everything, no matter how removed from politics it may be.
