We're off to see the Wizard...

I've probably seen the movie more than 500 times since I was first introduced to Dorothy and her friends at the age of three. To say I'm a big fan of the movie, would be an understatement, as I know every word, every song, and every second of the movie! I've dressed up as Dorothy for Halloween, own many Wizard of Oz memorabilia items, have a collection of documentaries of the movie, the Wiz of Oz board game, the dolls, etc.

That being said, you can imagine how excited I was when I found out Margaret Pellegrini, one of the original cast members of the Wizard of Oz, would be in town. I've been counting down the days for my chance to meet the woman who played the "Flower Pot Munchkin" 70-years-ago, and Saturday my dream became a reality. Margaret was in Folsom for the closing weekend of the Wizard of Oz play, presented by the El Dorado Musical Theatre. They put on an amazing performance and Margaret was there to meet with her fans, and sign autographs. She answered questions from the audience and recounted stories from her experience in the movie. She has a wonderful sense of humor and brought the packed crowd to laughter numerous times throughout her 10 minutes on the stage.

I was so honored and fortunate to meet Margaret. She is such a sweet woman and very gracious to her fans! She signed a few photos for me, and even let me take a couple photos with her.

I hope she'll return next year to Folsom, and if she does, I will be there in the front row, wearing my ruby-red slippers!

Thanks Margaret, thanks Emily and thanks EDMT for a day I will never forget!

I finally met Margaret! I've been wanting to meet her for so long. She's just the sweetest lady!
