Global Warming
This chart shows not only that global warming happened many times before human kind, but that it varies not only in the larger sense, but in the shorter sense as well.
The 20th century is much like other centuries where the temperature jumped dramatically, only to fall again.

Wait a minute!
Let me see if I grasp this completely.
1) The earth has warmed and cooled many times.
2) It appears to be very periodic, almost as if it had more to do with our orbit around the sun than greenhouse gases.
3) Warming and cooling seem to be leading CO2 rather than following it.
4) There are smaller cycles superimposed upon it, perhaps do to things like solar variation?
5) The highest level of CO2 is not today, but actually around 350,000 years ago before SUVs were even invented
6) There is a huge probability that we will go into another ice age
I am starting to wish that we CAN control the climate. I do not want another ice age.
It just occurred to me, I wonder if we could superimpose the 20th century change in temperature onto any of the thousands of little change cycles that have occurred in that plot?
Has the IPCC ever tried that?
I hear that they finally started to consider the effect of variations in solar radiance in their last report. I wonder if they will have it figured out by the next report?
