"I Don’t Want To Hear It!”
How often have you had the experience of relaying facts about our world, and the condition of it, to others in a conversation only to be responded to with, “I don’t want to hear about it!”?
For too many years I have been ‘hearing’ … “I’m too busy to read the paper.. Browse the Internet... etc.” “No, I haven’t heard that… It doesn’t affect me so why should I care." “I don’t want to focus on other people’s problems; I have enough of my own.”
Don’t they understand? These are OUR problems and they are multiplying by the second as the cancer of apathy spreads through our country and the remainder of the majority of Westernized civilization. And I use the term civilization quite loosely.
While we are off at The Mall, watching bubble gum for the mind on television and believing Government’s talking heads we are going down like the Titanic. Why are so many people just walking around in a daze looking for the trendiest life jacket? Don’t they understand what happens in the world affects US, and our generations to come? Or do they really believe the end is coming anyway so why not live for today, as they pull the rest of us down with them.
While we fill our heads with the latest trends in fashion and entertainment, our lives are being threatened by small groups all over the world who are in control of the masses. They bank on the fact that we will continue on our planned paths of commercial intoxication and addiction to things that don’t really matter. They have set us up so well.
Now we are reaping the consequences of our inaction to the real world. Their coffers are filling faster than you can empty your bank account (if you still have one) while our national debts, hunger, pollution and suffering fill up our headlines.
We have become a human population of deaf marionettes on a shrinking iceberg stage. Only the profiting puppeteers will remain standing. As our last dying pleas for survival hit their ears, they will answer “I don’t want to hear it!”

When asked, "what is the difference between ignorance and apathy?" Most people respond with "I don't know and I don't want to hear about it"
But we are escalating towards martial law and a complete corporate fascist state bent on destroying humanity. Thank you for writing this inspiring piece and I pray that it will help motivate the masses. I encourage people to check out Dr. Leonard Horowitz's free movie "In Lies We Trust"...you can watch it for free here:

Oh man, do I ever agree. The other day I found myself standing in line at the drugstore while a lively conversation about gas prices was going on around me. Now I live in a small rural farming town so a lot of folks aren't too forward thinking, but come on, what kind of rock do you have to live under not to know what's going on with the environment, the government and big business. Anyway, I was amazed at the degree of agreement with a man who was talking about how "stupid" we were for not going after "that oil in alaska". And I actually hear people on occasion say, "well, as long as there's enough to last till I die, I don't care about it after that". OMG, who thinks like this??! Maybe they don't have kids of their own, but don't they have some nieces and nephews, or just neighborhood kids, they'd like to see have a world to grow up in? I know I don't do enough, but I try to be aware and improve my imprint every day. At lease I realize something is better than nothing. But we need to get big business to realize if they don't change their ways there's not going to be any generations carrying on.
