The Perfect Season
The Roseville Outlaws

The Roseville Outlaws  recently concluded their Spring Season by capturing the league title in the E3 Men’s Division at Lockridge Park, Roseville. The Outlaws went undefeated throughout their 7 regular season games with power hitting, lightning base running, outstanding fielding, and crafty pitching.

The Outlaws enjoyed a number one seeding heading into the playoffs which pitted them against a rival team called the Rebound Rehab formerly known as the MasterBatters.

The MasterBatters was the former team of Manjit Sandher, Ty Rousseau, and Izzy Armenta. Although the rivalry is friendly, it’s a rivalry nevertheless. The Outlaws tend to dig a little deeper and push a little harder when playing against this team, making the head-to-head match-up something both team looks forward to every season.

So far the Outlaws has been able to dominate the MasterBatters beating them relentlessly at every meeting. This fourth meeting was no different as the Outlaws routinely disposed the Rebound Rehab to advance into the finals.

At the finals, the Outlaws faced the 2nd seeded team called the Esurance. A young team with a lot of hitting power and the ability to score runs in bunches.

Fortunately the Management of the Outlaws made a few off-season acquisition that would pay dividend immediately.

The off-season signing of power-house Manjit Sandher and the Rousseau brothers solidified the Outlaws power game. Speed Demon outfielder Mariselo Armenta patrols the grassy fields with effortless abandonment leaving the opponents breathless. The consistent veteran plays of Izzy, Ty, Larry Broberg, Francisco Bridges, Tim Gomez, Don Sturkey and Armando Susbilla was the final cohesive ingredient to the recipe of the Outlaws’ success.

A brief summary of the exciting championship game:

Tie ball game, 13-13, bottom of the final inning with 2 outs with Tim on third as the winning run with Manjit at the plate.

Manjit connects hard going middle rattling the opposing pitcher. The hard hit ball ricochet off the pitcher to the shortstop who fumbles the ball before throwing it to first. Manjit who is not known for his speed somehow made it safely to first, Tim comes home and the Outlaws achieves the impossible, the perfect season and the championship title. Go Outlaws!
