How about instead of all that trouble, you can have Obama rendition him and keep him in Guantanamo?

Cheap, quiet, easy.

how funny that you want to do this on September 10th

do I need to point out the significance of the day before September 11 ?

but you owe me for a new monitor, I spit my coffee all over it reading your post

ha ha ha ha

you are so funny

but hey, looks aren't everything

Hello Average Placer County Voter:

The people who are calling for Bush's Impeachment are the same people who you will find promoting Charlie Brown, and Barrack Obama.

Now, we all know these people are not "moderate", don't we. They are the most extreme left people in Placer County, and rival the leftists from San Francisco.

Are you really going to follow their advice?

Impeaching Bush is your responsibility as an AMERICAN!

R_T and c_s, I'm guessing you were probably very vocal in your support to impeach Clinton for lying about cheating on his wife, and now lying to the American people and THE WORLD should be ignored??? What exactly is your criterion then for impeachment? Our President lied to us, deliberately, knowingly and willingly, about the justification for the invasion of Iraq - imminent threat, linked to 9/11, WMD's, we have the evidence, but it's classified, just trust us - have you forgotten? It wasn't just one lie, it was a continuous series of them, and it was no accident. These lies have a body count! Where is your patriotism here? Because it's not just about Bush, it's about sending the message to our leaders and to our future leaders - this will not be tolerated by the American people. Our soldiers are dead, innocent people are dying because of these lies, our enemies have multiplied, and billions of dollars have been spent (http://www.fas.org/sgp/crs/natsec/RL33110.pdf). You know they are lies, but you think that somehow the end (still waiting for that) will justify the means? (still no real knowledge of what that end result will be) Well it doesn't, and we must say so. Doing nothing is the same as agreeing.

The message to our government by our inaction is that they can do whatever they want, because we won't care. Democrats are fighting this too, just as much as the Republicans, the media has blacked it out, what does that tell you?? It should tell you that they don't want the American people to speak and hold them accountable for their actions! I don't care if he has 156 days left in office or 1, because it's not about removing him from office. Prove you take your responsibility as an American citizen seriously. Let them ALL know, you will not stand for it, and sign the petition!

I feel the term billions doesn't do justice to the actual cost so far, and I hope people will check out the link.

But for those who won't - Cost to date of Iraq War $653,000,000,000. Again - Cost of a war justified with lies and no one having to answer for those lies: $653 BILLION.

By comparison, Afghanistan $172 Billion.

Impeachment is not about punishing Bush-Cheney or Republicans. Impeachment is about the people notifying all future presidents that we will not stand for lawlessness or abuses of power. If this administration gets away with it you can be sure that every succeeding administration - Republican and Democratic - will attempt it. And each time impeachment will become more remote as a remedy. Politicians never willingly give up any powers they assume. That is why the Founders put impeachment into the Constitution.

Excuse me while I go throw up.

Anyone still wondering why Kucinich was such a failure in presidential politics? And to the moronic ktttyv: Clinton lied about so many things everyone had a hard time keeping up with it all! It was almost an everyday experience. And he didn’t just lie about getting some vacuum assist from Monica…..he lied to a GRAND JURY about it! The rest of your post is the standard old worn out far left drivel that you all learn in Stupid School. Give it a break.

In a time when so much money is wasted, why would you want to oust a president who only has a few months left? Because that is what stupid people do, waste money. And what is worse is that you really think people will respect you for your ideas........what nonsense.

It's not wasted. Here's why: Impeachment is about the people putting all future presidents on notice that we will not stand for lawlessness or abuses of power. This has little to do with personalities, but a lot to do with the office of chief executive.

If this administration gets away with violating the constitution, you can be sure that every succeeding administration - both Republican and Democratic - will attempt it. And each time impeachment will become more remote as a remedy. Politicians never willingly give up any powers they assume. That is why the Founders put impeachment into the Constitution in the first place.

Wow! Who would've known that the Bush haters would be so desperate to make Dick Cheney the President? I'm sure this is not just about getting in digs against their political enemies before they can leave office in spite of any upheaval it might cause the country during an election. After all, that wouldn't be patriotic at all, and these guys are patriots. Just ask them!

Realist - hope you feel better, drink lots of fluids.

AIP - do you think I'm a Clinton fan? LOL . NAFTA

If you supported the impeachment of Clinton because he lied to a Grand Jury about a BJ that was nothing to do what the Grand Jury was questioning him about in the first place, than why would you not want impeachment for Bush when he lied to you, to all of us, and to the international community as well to justify WAR? What if Obama wins, and does the same tactic, would you not rightfully demand he be held accountable? Is it because you feel only Democrats should be held to this standard? I feel you are letting your loyalty to a party override your loyalty to America. Please explain why you think you should not excercise this right in this instance, and try to give reasons that are not merely a reflection of your Republican loyalty. I would not expect that you would support impeachment in all honesty, but I'd like to hear a valid argument.

irenespeaks - a waste of time is a poor reason for not demanding accountability, and you can bet whether its a Republican or a Democrat who wins the election, the message that you can't be bothered will be heard. It's your choice.

irenespeaks - One more thing. I'm not sure if your comment "you really think people wil respect you for your ideas" is directed at me, but if so, know that if I was looking for respect for my ideas it sure wouldn't be in this forum. I am regularly called moron, stupid, left wing nut case, blah blah blah, all of which I ignore in my search for information and a valid argument in their posts, sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. I don't think I am respected for my opinions, and I really don't care. All I want is respect for my right to say them.

The impeachment is necessary to prove that "We the People" still maintain control over our elected officials. It is not just about Bush. Cheney, Rice, Rove, Gonsalvs, et al., are all part of a corrupt administration. The abuse of our constitutional rights, our freedoms, our liberty stand in the balance. The evidence is in, they have openly declared their guilt.

We need to send a message now, to all politicians and future administrations that "We the People" will not tolerate attempts to circumvent our laws.

In the beginning the flag said, "Don't Tread on Me".

Kittyv - sorry, I am not a member of the House so I can't vote for impeachment of anyone, did you know that ? you and I can't vote for impeachment

as for impeaching Clinton, I really think he should have resigned

he lied to us on international tv and under oath

who cares what the subject, by the way , are you gay ?

since all gays seem to equate everything with sex

as for WMD's Iraq was found to have hundred of old nerve gas shells

they were expressly prohibited by the terms of UN agreements

much as if you got pulled over with a roach in your ashtray while on probation for felony drug possession

now, as for the money spent in Iraq - you have my agreement perhaps

I think we should have used a nuke to oust Saddam

after all - what good is a "nuclear deterrent" if they don't deter agression ?

and they're cheap, actually they're paid off like an old car

just a whole lot more reliable

but I do think we should have or should get, payment from Iraq since they have more oil than I believe they need for their own consumption and indeed they owe us some gratitude

SDbutler - you're statements are absurd. Impeachment is for specific crimes and not a glorified name-calling as Democrats are so fond of.

and Chunga - what freedoms have Bush/Cheney suspended ?

certainly not freedom of speech - Democrat Jessie Jackson still uses the term Ni*****

but the radical Muslim enabllers the democrats have weakened freedoms and safety

by openly cheering at US deaths and open support for Syria and Iran by visits from Congressional Democrats.

lastly, saying they have all openly decalared their guilt is so dishonest that you should be impeached or the equivalent from ever posting here again

you know that is a flat-out lie and yet you say it with a straight face

how "lefty" of you

I have to ask, when you told the lie, were you also wagging your finger at us in a red-face rage like Bill Clinton ?

National Impeachment Movement Ignored by Corporate Media

If a national movement calling for the impeachment of the President is rapidly emerging and the corporate media are not covering it, is there really a national movement for the impeachment of the President?

Impeachment advocates are widely mobilizing in the U.S. Over 1,000 letters to the editors of major newspapers have been printed in the past six months asking for impeachment. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette letter writer George Matus says, “I am still enraged over unasked questions about exit polls, touch-screen voting, Iraq, the cost of the new Medicare…who formulated our energy policy, Jack Abramoff, the Downing Street Memos, and impeachment.” David Anderson in McMinnville, Oregon pens to the Oregonian, “Where are the members of our congressional delegation now in demanding the current president’s actions be investigated to see if impeachment or censure are appropriate actions?” William Dwyer’s letter in the Charleston Gazette says, “Congress will never have the courage to start the impeachment process without a groundswell of outrage from the people.”

City councils, boards of supervisors, and local and state level Democrat central committees have voted for impeachment. Arcata, California voted for impeachment on January 6. The City and County of San Francisco, voted Yes on February 28. The Sonoma County Democrat Central Committee (CA) voted for Impeachment on March 16. The townships of Newfane, Brookfield, Dummerston, Marlboro and Putney in Vermont all voted for impeachment the first week of March. The New Mexico State Democrat party convention rallied on March 18 for the ”impeachment of George Bush and his lawful removal from office.” The national Green Party called for impeachment on January 3. Op-ed writers at the St. Petersburg Times, Newsday, Yale Daily News, Barrons, Detroit Free Press, and the Boston Globe have called for impeachment. The San Francisco Bay Guardian (1/25/06) The Nation (1/30/06) and Harpers (3/06) published cover articles calling for impeachment. As of March 16, thirty-two US House of Representatives have signed on as co-sponsors to House Resolution 635, which would create a Select Committee to look into the grounds for recommending President Bush’s impeachment.

Polls show that nearly a majority of Americans favor impeachment. In October of 2005, Public Affairs Research found that 50% of Americans said that President Bush should be impeached if he lied about the war in Iraq. A Zogby International poll from early November 2005 found that 53% of Americans say, “If President Bush did not tell the truth about his reasons for going to war with Iraq, Congress should consider holding him accountable through impeachment.” A March 16, 2006 poll by American Research Group showed that 42% of Americans favored impeaching Bush.

Despite all this advocacy and sentiment for impeachment, corporate media have yet to cover this emerging mass movement. The Bangor Daily News simply reported on March 17 that former US Attorney General Ramsey Clark has set up the website Votetoimpeach.org and that other groups are using the internet to push impeachment. The Wall Street Journal, on March 16, editorialized about how it is just “the loony left” seeking impeachment, but perhaps some Democrats in Congress will join in feeding on the “bile of the censure/impeachment brigades.”

The corporate media are ignoring the broadening call for impeachment — wishing perhaps it will just go away. Television news and talk shows have mentioned impeachment over 100 times in the past 30 days, mostly however in the context of Senator Russ Feingold’s censure bill and the lack of broad Democrat support for censure or impeachment. Nothing on television news gives the impression that millions of Americans are calling for the impeachment of Bush and his cohorts.

The Bush Administration lied about Iraq, illegally spied on US citizens, and continues war crimes in the Middle East. Despite corporate media’s inability to hear the demands for impeachment, the groundswell of outrage continues to expand. [source: Project Censored:

U.S. Perpetuates Mass Killings In Iraq

The United States is directly responsible for over one million Iraqi deaths since the invasion five and half years ago. In a January 2008 report, a British polling group Opinion Research Business (ORB) reports that, “survey work confirms our earlier estimate that over 1,000,000 Iraqi citizens have died as a result of the conflict which started in 2003…. We now estimate that the death toll between March 2003 and August 2007 is likely to have been of the order of 1,033,000. If one takes into account the margin of error associated with survey data of this nature then the estimated range is between 946,000 and 1,120,000”.

The ORB report comes on the heels of two earlier studies conducted by Johns Hopkins University published in the Lancet medical journal that confirmed the continuing numbers of mass deaths in Iraq. A study done by Dr. Les Roberts from January 1, 2002 to March 18 2003 put the civilian deaths at that time at over 100,000. A second study published in the Lancet in October 2006 documented over 650,000 civilian deaths in Iraq since the start of the US invasion. The 2006 study confirms that US aerial bombing in civilian neighborhoods caused over a third of these deaths and that over half the deaths are directly attributable to US forces.

The now estimated 1.2 million dead, as of July 2008, includes children, parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, cab drivers, clerics, schoolteachers, factory workers, policemen, poets, healthcare workers, day care providers, construction workers, babysitters, musicians, bakers, restaurant workers and many more. All manner of ordinary people in Iraq have died because the United States decided to invade their country. These are deaths in excess of the normal civilian death rate under the prior government.

The magnitude of these deaths is undeniable. The continuing occupation by US forces guarantees a mass death rate in excess of 10,000 people per month with half that number dying at the hands of US forces— a carnage so severe and so concentrated at to equate it with the most heinous mass killings in world history. This act has not gone unnoticed.

Recently, Dennis Kucinich introduced a single impeachment article against George W. Bush for lying to Congress and the American people about the reasons for invading Iraq. On July 15 The House forwarded the resolution to the Judiciary Committee with a 238 to 180 vote. That Bush lied about weapons of mass destruction and Iraq’s threat to the US is now beyond doubt. Former US federal prosecutor Elizabeth De La Vega documents the lies most thoroughly in her book U.S. Vs Bush, and numerous other researchers have verified Bush’s untrue statements.

The American people are faced with a serious moral dilemma. Murder and war crimes have been conducted in our name. We have allowed the war/occupation to continue in Iraq and offered ourselves little choice within the top two presidential candidates for immediate cessation of the mass killings. McCain would undoubtedly accept the deaths of another million Iraqi civilians in order to save face for America, and Obama’s 18-month timetable for withdrawal would likely result in another 250,000 civilian deaths or more.

We owe our children and ourselves a future without the shame of mass murder on our collective conscience. The only resolution of this dilemma is the immediate withdrawal of all US troops in Iraq and the prosecution and imprisonment of those responsible. Anything less creates a permanent original sin on the soul of the nation for that we will forever suffer.

Wow, this is heavy. The Iraqi war dead will soon exceed the population of Iraq. Bush lied about the WMD's. Didn't Clinton say they had them back in 1998?, Same with John Kerry. The UN had 17 resolutions against Hussein.

Come on people, you may hate Bush and Cheney but let's stick with the truth.

Kitty, I never thought a BJ alone was ground for Impeachment, lying to the world, and there was not any faulty intel on this, on public television, lying to a Grand Jury made it an impeachable offense.

Kucinich? He's nuts.

McCain, well according to those that support Charlie Brown and tout his military record as enough reason to elect him should be a shoe in since Obama never served. The 20 some years in the Senate against three which have been spent campaigning for the most part should also be a tie breaker.

Come on folks, I know you're all mad but it is time to come up with new and effective reasons, the ones posed here are old, tired ones.

Vote for whoever you think is going to be best for the Country, hopefully they won't act like Karen Bass.

Charlie Brown, you ask, this weekend's show of force by the California speaker of the house is a good example of what happens to those that go against the wishes of the party. Does anyone really think Charlie will defy Madam Pelosi? He should find out what kind of music she liikes so he can start practicing a few steps, that may impress her.

Sorry LR, the offenses committed by the Bushies involve aspects that you as a Cuban expatriate should be especially offended. Lying about a reason for war is one thing. Using 9/11 as a jumping off point to circumvent the Constitution, compromising our civil liberties and ignoring the subpoenas by congress are illegal in this country. They used to be illegal anyway, before Bush.

"If this administration gets away with violating the constitution, you can be sure that every succeeding administration - both Republican and Democratic - will attempt it. And each time impeachment will become more remote as a remedy. Politicians never willingly give up any powers they assume. That is why the Founders put impeachment into the Constitution in the first place." GenSDB

America belongs to "We the People".

Chunga, yes, I am a Cuban expatriate as you call me, I rather prefer to call myself an American, no hyphens please. In any event, I cannot subscribe to some of the accusations thrown out against Bush, the war, 9/11, etc.

The previous Administration, Clinton's, stated that Iraq had WMD, Bush had not even started running for President when all the Democrats were wringing their hands over them.

Look, you don't like Bush and that's OK by me, I happen to think he's not as dumb or naive as Jimmy Carter and believe me, that's no compliment but come on some of these accusations are way over the top, product of nut cases on the Internet and without a shred of evidence.

Like I have said before, I much rather have my Civil Rights violated for a few seconds at an airport by Security making me take my shoes off than for eternity by some Muslim fanatic. I really think a lot of people feel the same way.

Now, if the purpose of all these ranting is to get a Senator with only three years experience, whose Resume is basically that he was a community agitator for ACORN and Justice for Janitors elected, hey nobody is stopping you from voting.

Has anyone besides myself notice those cute slogans on the podium change depending who Obama is talking to?

I heard that President Bush is also responsible for the crusades and the extinction of the mighty Mammoth! We need to do something. These are crimes against Pachyderms!! Impeach! Impeach!

kittyv, I tried to take youa advice to drink more fluids, but all I could find on this blog was Kool-Aid.

loomisresident - You may not care about your civil rights, but I do. Once lost they are never peacefully regained. "Rights have to be taken, not requested; seized, not begged for." (Jose Marti).

It is never a choice between "either liberty OR safety." As Dr. Benjamin Franklin said, "Those who give up essential liberties for temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." No rumor of terrorist threat should make the USA cower and surrender its freedoms.

I look to a man's education and past performance as a measure of his abilities.

- Sen. Obama was educated at Occidental College, Los Angeles, Calif.; he received his B.A. in 1983 from Columbia University; worked as a community organizer in Chicago, Ill.; studied law at Harvard University where he became president of the Harvard Law Review and received his doctorate degree, Magna Cum Laude, in law in 1991 rated at the top ten in his class; he lectured on constitutional law at University of Chicago.

- Sen. McCain graduated from Episcopal High School in 1954. He attended the US Naval Academy and in 1958 graduated 894th in a class of 898. He had low ratings for "conduct, academics and leadership." McCain later admitted, "I never got good grades." Attended Naval War College for nine months in 1973.

Maybe McCain should wear his uniform like some of the other dictators. His educational background is military. He doesn't pause to consider facts and always responds to world crises' with, 'Attack, damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead'. The outcome is beyond him. Mind-numbing.
